Sarah Christou
Sarah is an author / illustrator based near Cambridge, England with a background in publishing and marketing.
In 2023, her debut picture book, Blue was published in the UK and US by Faber & Faber. It is also now available in Poland, Brazil, New Zealand and Australia. Blue was shortlisted for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award in 2024 and it was also selected for the 2024 EmpathyLab Read for Empathy Collection.
Sarah felt instinctively drawn to creating picture books after attending a children's book illustration summer school in 2015. In 2023, she completed an MA in Children's Book illustration at Cambridge School of Art. She also completed an MA in Screenwriting from Bournemouth University in 2014.
In 2019, Sarah was chosen as the winner of the Faber & Faber / Andlyn Fab Prize for Illustration with her picture book Megan's Cat.
Sarah enjoys writing and illustrating stories for children that express emotions in a way that's accessible, inclusive and engaging, reflecting a child's real-life experience of the world and her love of anything with paws.
